Morristown hosts CCM fashion shoot Jamie DuffyDesigner/models Aldina Minic,Wholesale Ralph Lauren Shirts Rockaway and Jezebel Torres, Mount Olive, relax before fashion shoots at the Hyatt Morristown on Dec. 4. Minic was inspired by the 1940s for her ensemble, while Torres went back further to the Edwardian era for her black lace gown. Eight design students from the County College of Morris borrowed Acorn Hall, the Hyatt Morristown and the streets of Morristown for a fashion shoot last week. Under the direction of James Howard, associate professor and coordinator of design studies at CCM, models posed for Randolph-based photographer Juliet Foster, who volunteered her time, as did adult cosmetology students from the Morris County Vocational School, who did hair and makeup. Jamie DuffyProfessional photographer Juliet Foster, Rockaway, volunteered her services for the fashion shoot. She may be able to develop a local calendar. Howard called the efforts "resplendent, and pictures will reveal evidence of that. " The designs were to reflect a period of the past adapted for modern use. The shoot was organized by CCM's Fashion Club and will be used in the future for fundraising purposes. After the models were made up in one of the ballrooms at the Hyatt Morristown, where CCM has a satellite facility, the entire production team went off to Acorn Hall to take photos in the Victorian home, decorated for Christmas, before returning to the Hyatt for studio style portraits. In May, the department will put on a two-hour fashion show in the CCM gym to show the range of the students' work. CCM has offered an associate fine arts degree in applied arts or fashion design for two years. Jamie DuffyJessica Hemmerlin, International Salon, Sparta helped with the fashion shoot. Many of the students envision going on to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) or Parsons School of Design, both in Manhattan, or even to schools in California. Brandon Wieboldt from Bethlehem Township in Hunterdon County foresees living on the West Coat. Sujha Balaji moved to Randolph two years ago after her husband relocated from India, where she had a dress business, primarily bridal. The stovepipe pants and military style jacket were worn by men in the 1800s, Ogden said.
