Anne graduated from Stephens College in Missouri and Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she worked for a well-known fashion designer of the time. She met her husband, James Gregory Tripp Jr. , at a dance at the Sherry-Netherland Hotel. She used her interior design background and boundless energy to make each house and community feel like a permanent home. In addition, Anne loved to read, sew, dance, play bridge, garden, and cook. She has been a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Greensboro Country Club, Tanglefoot square dance club, and a variety of women's clubs and bridge clubs. She loved to travel with her family and lived overseas several times when Jim undertook consulting jobs in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Libya. Anne is survived by two brothers, Julian James Anderson and Clarence Irving Anderson; four children, Julie Middleton (Jim), Greg Tripp (Karen), Matthew Tripp (Sotiria), of Greensboro, and Melanie Rhodes (Allen) of New York City; seven grandchildren, Allan Tripp, and Julian Middleton, Ginni Anderson, Caroline Shuping, Tyler Tripp and Tripp Rhodes; and seven great-grandchildren.
